The general guidance floating around is that you can wash and reuse a bag up to about 10 times before it gives out. I’d treat that as a loose ballpark, not a hard rule. Some bags tap out sooner, especially thin sandwich ones. A sturdy gallon freezer bag can go longer if you’re gentle with it.
Think of it a bit like how you’d approach reusing plastic take-out containers. The container earns another round as long as it’s clean and intact. Same logic here. The moment a bag stops sealing or stops coming clean, its reuse life is over. Until then, it’s fair game.

How to Wash and Dry Ziploc Bags the Right Way

I happily reuse bags for dry snacks, bread, and produce. I reach for a fresh bag when raw proteins are involved. A Simple Rule I Follow at My Sink
