This DIY serum combines several ingredients commonly used in home skincare routines for hydration and temporary skin smoothing. Ingredients

  • 1 tsp whole cloves

  • 2 tbsp flaxseeds

  • 1 tsp raw honey

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

  • 2 tbsp pure aloe vera gel (99%)

  • 1 tbsp rose water

  • 10 drops vitamin E oil

  • About ¾ cup filtered water

1. Make the Clove-Turmeric Infusion

  • Warm ¼ cup (60 ml) filtered water in a small saucepan.

  • Add cloves and turmeric.

  • Simmer gently on very low heat for about 5 minutes.

  • Remove from heat and let cool completely.

  • Strain out the cloves and any turmeric particles.

2. Prepare the Flaxseed Gel

  • Combine flaxseeds with ½ cup (120 ml) water.

  • Simmer over low heat for 6–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Once the liquid becomes thick and gel-like, remove from heat.

  • Strain through a fine cloth or mesh while still warm to collect the gel.

3. Mix the Serum

  • Combine the cooled infusion with the flaxseed gel.

  • Add aloe vera gel and stir until smooth.

  • Mix in rose water.

  • Add honey and stir until dissolved.

  • Finish with vitamin E oil and whisk well.

4. Store Properly

  • Pour into a clean, sterilized glass bottle.

  • Refrigerate for about 12 hours before first use.

  • Keep refrigerated between uses.
